This mini-series of ink drawings was inspired by idea of primordial sea. All three drawings were done on A4 format Bristol paper with extra smooth surface. It's currently my favorite type of paper to use, it's perfect for working with ink since, unlike watercolor paper, Bristol won't soak up ink. As it dries, ink, sort of sticks to the surface which allows for many interesting effects especially when using a lot of white ink as I do. Technical art talk aside, I really enjoyed working on these drawings, I am very interested in creating abstract landscapes inspired by an idea of ancient, primordial sea. I often call my drawings "inner landscapes" because, no matter what they are inspired by they always represent my inner state of being and are often also a metaphor for my emotions. These inner landscapes represent a realm of deep, primal emotions that is impossible to express through words but can effortlessly be expressed through simple shapes and textures and colors.
